The new year trip 2006-2007

Allow me to make a summarising for my 2007 new year trip as simple as possible here cos I'm really lazy to post all my reflections, feedbacks and some other lengthy rambings here that written to none in fact...so to get things short, the trip lasted for almost 2 weeks(passed by Macau, stayed in ShenZhen for 2 days and the rest in Hong Kong).

Macau - the place was nice and surrounded by sea, lotsa suspension bridge which I dunno why but I suspect Chinese govt. is fucking rich now to build one after another and another and so on...Macau International Airport is so tiny just like the one in Senai -_- and Changi Budget Terminal is so frugal and stingy...tiny and looks like Giant Hypermart -_-"

Shen Zhen - 26 years old city with 5x more buildings than Kuala Lumpur, shame on us boleh-land.Chinese govt. hired Singaporean to do town planning in SZ and there are like infinity of buildings over there, very exaggerating but true.Roads are as straight as u can ever imagine, like a whole stretch of ruler to infinity end, boring.Drivers there are rude, horns are flying everywhere eventhough midnight.Vendors(Dong Men Market) there are like those in Petaling St.I did some fucking cheap hair extension there for only 100 RMB(50 Ringgit only) which surprisingly turned out to be not too bad.Foods there sucks big time, smelled and tasted like shit and drainage water...to hell was that ppl there enjoy the foods a lot*spooky*.We were brought to some typical tourist spots like Window of the world,Cultural Village cum miniature world with some performances presented jampacked with lotsa tourists, not to forget places like Jewellery factory,Chinese Herbs Factory...that hoping us to fall prey on their fraudulent tactics so that we would spend our money to buy their mega thrifty pruducts(they gave discount generously like 70% if u ever ask them for it,and of cos u GOTTA ask them...they are cunning and they'll spurt lotsa reasons to get ur pocket burns out for their fake products, eventhough they seem professional and well dressed in uniform trading in a proper sales premise.)

Kowloon(HK) - took KCR line(commuter) from Shen Zhen custom across New Territory to Kowloon(30 minutes journey) where our hotel was located right in the middle of Mong Kok business district, yea, the infamous Women Street was nearby only within walking distance.Things are cheap and of cos with the condition of good in bargaining.I'm sucks in it so I din buy much from there.Vendors are rude just like those in Petaling Street but still u can see lotsa caucasions and tourists scattering everywhere there. The best is to bargain in Cantonese or else u'll get slaughtered gao gao.Tsim Sha Tsui was nice with the promising view of HK Island skyscraper at the harbour area,u'll get LV,Prada,Armani,Gucci over there where there's no way I can afford. So,boring!Starwalk was nice and the view is magnificient cos it was facing right in front of the significant HK island city and sumwhere nearby Peninsula Hotel.

Hong Kong(The Island) - View was nice at Victoria Peak...amazing and it was very cold over there. In fact coldest ever in HK which claimed by some meteorologist(10c to 12c),for me it was ok only.Went to Causeway Bay(Tong Lo Wan) for several times to shop, got really headache and suffocated by the amount of ppl there...many is too little to describe,I shall use much instead.Tried out the native Red Box Plus over there courtesy of Christine(Charles aunt. a capable woman of PCCW).Bought a lot of odd stuffs in fact -_- and ate a lot.Extended for few more days to stay in Christine place in Kennedy Town(Western part of HK island adjacent to Central-Zhong Wan and Hong Kong University) a classy area with lotsa high rise buildings and of cos the price of real properties there are 3 folds of M'sian market price starting from million for everything...Bukit Tunku,Damansara Height,Mont Kiara,Hartamas area...are nothing compare to those in HK.Houses are tiny but costly...but the view from Christine place was nicest cos it was facing the sea...public transport is nothing to complain about, best of all even better than Singapore I think,of cos they charged more...count ourselves lucky to stay in M'sia where train ticket from 2 ends are so fucking cheap...but then gotta trade off with good services since we're all in favour of cheap things instead of good services, don't complain too much will do with the price we're paying and other ppl paying.Tram is only 2 HKD and service is good as well...the longest time I'd ever waited in HK for a public transport was 1 minute.Learn it up RapidKL,TransitLink,Maju,KTM...*roll eyes*

Lantau Island(HK) - Went to visit the huge Buddha statue right on top of the peak of some mountain range(Dai Fat San) that required us to take cable car then climbed up hundreds of stairs just to reach the "foot" of the buddha statue... did some holy deeds such as ate vegetarian food, donation for sure since we are devoted Buddhists.Later on,off we went to Disneyland which left us in disappointment cos it turned out to be boring and dull.No exotic and challenging rides like those in DisneyWorld Florida and Tokyo Disneyland...all we could see is kiddo rides like Merry Go Round,Flying Jumbo,Tea Cups,Locomotive Train, some lame rafts and slow sampans...-_-...295 HKD weiiii!Wasted just lidat...could've buy a lot of winter clothings. The castle is the shortest ever among all the Disneylands, parade was pretty short like 30 minutes only...souveneir shops are the most in Disneyland HK...fucking Disney corp. that earning so much from us...without fulfilling our childhood dream to the fullest,in fact,it makes me feel like Disneyland HK is more of a place for selling souveneirs than bringing us fun.Genting Highland can anytime beat 'em down in term of fun.It sucks and I left so early that I didn't even bother to wait for the closing ceromony which comprising some fireworks...who noes whether they're gonna charge us for "viewing" or not.Disney theme MTR train was nice and cute and comfy! But not the theme park.Don't go to HK Disneyland ppl out there or else u'll regret for whole life,it won't answer ur anticipation and dreams...pay more and opt for other Disneylands. It's a shame I skipped Ocean Park for Disneyland,Ocean Park is much more bigger and nicer but the tic. costs only 100++ ,a lot cheaper than stupid Disneyland.I felt so lame when I left the Disneyland gantry...in fact started to question myself what the fuck I'm doing and paying this for?

*overall the entire China trip was nice(inclusive of HK and Macau),but ppl there are less polite than our local ppl...so don't ever say that Malaysians are rude if u haven't seen the rudest.I wonder how come a highly civilise city will nurture so many of uncivilise ppl...the China Public Securities(Gong An) are so unhelpful to our problems such as asking road direction, there were either getting wrong direction from them, getting a total cold shoulder from them(i'm gonna whack this particular one if I ever seen him around),or they will just tell u they dunno or shrug(mahai, can't u just ask ur comrades or wat instead of shrugging),food in HK is nice but not in Shen Zhen.HK sp. administrative govt. is very considerate cos they're enforcing "no smoking"policy into their law that ppl are only allow to smoke in limited places in HK...almost everywhere banned smoking and also u can see hand sanitizer dispensers anywhere in shopping complexes, hotels,MTR stations, restaurants, private residential premises...to overcome birdflu,SARS,influenza and other respiratory disease tht can spread easily among ppl esp. given the crowd in HK is never ceased from dusk till dawn.Thumbs up for their public health awareness...

PS:I've missed out on so many nice places like Ocean Park,Snoopy's world,Mid-level escalator walkway(passed by few times but din manage to go,it's da longest escalator walkway in the world I think),The wishing tree in Lamma Island,Wong Dai Sin Temples(although it was only 2 MTR stations away from my hotel,damn!)...some other nice places recommended by the HK tourism board.

pps:Oh yea, there was some strange things happened on the 1st day I checked into Newton Hotel Kowloon.Bcos of some "special" incidents that made us worried for the whole night for the safety of Michell and Chanel...so we didn't actually sleep well in Shen Zhen the night before. Thus,we compensated in our HK's hotel since we arrived there too early like 11 am sumthing only...and while sleeping I could hear someone pressing the doorbell massively and it happened constantly that it was so annoying...and I opened the door few times only to realise there was none, and the corridor was fucking spooky can!It was so deserted and eerie that I was goosebumped. Then later on I found out from Chanel which claimed to have this sixth sense that this floor of the hotel is not very "clean"...argh...*faint*!No wonder they don't even dare to answer the door even when we rang it.Luckily I'm a holy man...paranormal creatures will just fuck off from me and leave me alone! But after that day everything was fine and normal, weird.I still believe they were someone "real" pressed the doorbell, that could be a prank since our room is facing directly at the elevator,so I suspect he/she could've escaped easily from us after playing those pranks!Fuck!

The castle tells everything, yea,it's da Disneyland in dispute -_-"

Look at the stairs to the peak of the Buddha statue...damn a lot...and I saw there's lotsa elderly managed to climb up without external aids, and nope I didn't see any ambulance around as well.

The Repulse Bay(Tsin Sui Wan),a fishing village,with Charles,Michell and Chanel(Michell's mama)

Breathtaking view of the HK and Kowloon skyscrapers from Victoria Peak

At Victoria Harbour and the Starwalk in Tsim Sha Tsui.

The Cultural Village in Shen Zhen, the posers and nose digging seems vy fun for them.

The mock up Eiffel Tower at Window of the world,I wish I was in Paris...argh my Euro Trip seems bubbled to me now since I'm freaking broke edi...

In a taxi,on top of one of the many suspension bridges in Macau, that was the reknowned Macau Tower with casino inside.Taxi ride was fucking expensive in Macau especially(HK is nothing better oso)!

*I got dear lotsa photos but too lazy to post la!Used up all 5 memory sticks we have lol...2x128mb,1x256mb,1x32mb,1x16mb.....still not really sufficient for our 2 weeks trip to be honest including all the camwhoring ones.*ooops*
